The writing was of course stellar but man oh man was this depressing. I can't even really put into words how I felt while reading.

Probably a bit hopeless.

I wish the end had gone a different way but the very end was sweet.

I know I often forget about this author and am always blown away by her writing I just don't know if this one was for me. ...more

Well written story

I love this author's writing. There's never a loss of description or a unique storyline missing with any of his books while we're working our way into the main character's complex mind.
This book has to do with mental illness. After years of being manipulated and brainwashed, causing self-loathing and guilt of epic proportions, Paris was made to believe he was responsible for a childhood tragedy.
