Barrel of Proof starts right where Cask Strength left off. Aiden, Jamie and Danny are on their way to Cuba to find Mel. With Jamie keeping a big secret, he is putting his relationship with his partner at risk. Maybe Aiden will forgive him, after all, Jamie was trying to protect Aiden’s heart.

While this series is a bit unrealistic it is so engrossing and I was sucked right back into the adrenaline filled story. Entertaining to say the least and honestly I love this kind of drama.

This is the 3rd and final book in the Agents Whiskey & Rye Series. We know that there are still secrets that Jamie is keeping from Aiden and in knowing that, it's not too much of a stretch to know that it isn't going to end well once Aiden finds out. Also, we don't know which side of the fence Mel is on as she took off at the end of the last book. When Aiden, and his brother Daniel, find out the truth, all hell breaks loose. Long weekends are great for reading but not so much reviewing.
I’m just going with four ★'s for the series as a whole. I didn’t love it like so many others but I get why they did for sure. For me, I missed out on whatever brought these two together aside from convenience. I didn’t see the fall so to speak. I felt this on my initial read and still felt it on my audio re-read of the first book. For the second and third books I just let that go and went with the stories, both the cases and the roman ...more
