First off, I love the marriage of convenience books. It is my all-time favorite plot in mainstream romance novels and RJ Scott’s The Heart of Texas successfully integrates this trope into her book. Second, the other thing I want in a romance novel is that it be long. The longer the better – there’s a risqué joke in there, but I will skip it – and The Heart of Texas comes out to a whopping 405 pages in pdf format. So sit down one lazy Sunday afternoon and dig in!

This was quite a ride. I really, really enjoyed it. It was for sure a train wreck, one I couldn’t take my eyes off of. I honestly am not usually a fan of this kind of soap opera type drama but this one worked for me. I felt that there was a lot going on but I was pretty much able to keep up. At the heart of it all, I did love watching these two really fall in love. There was a lot that happened, just when you get to know the evil villain along comes another one. There were a lot of twists & turns & at times it was a little convoluted. Off to the next one!
