My feelings are so totally mixed on this. I think this is the lowest rating I have ever given a KA book.

I am not sure if I feel like this book actually belonged with the others. Having just re-read the series as a refresher for this, they were very fresh in my mind. They all had a certain theme to them and this one, well, it did not. The beginning did FOR SURE. It was exciting and heartbreaking.

This is not me saying I disliked the story, I just seemed so very different.

I loved the final chapter in this story. I wasn't a huge Franka fan, but love Noc. I'm glad she finally saw her way to the less evil side, and really found her place. I feel like she was a victim of circumstances and I just needed to give her a chance to move on from her old life to make a new life with Noc. ...more

It was great to catch up with all the characters from the previous books but this wasn't one of my favourites in the Fantasyland series. This story was mostly about Franka and Noc's love story which was great but lacked the action and adventure of the previous books that I was expecting. Probably since this was a reversal of the other books where one of the main characters is from our world and placed in the Fantasyland world but in this story Franka came to our world with Noc.

Started out as a five star read, especially since it had my feelings in an uproar. As the story progresses it seemed to lose whatever it was that kept me entranced.

The focus wasn't so much on the couple I wanted to read about, but the supporting character. It felt like the author was thinking that this was going g to be the last book in the series so I best the up all lose ends. Not bad, just meh. This story redeems Franka and defangs her enemies within the first 20% of the book. After that she and hero spend time apart as she gets to know herself, they reconnect then get to know each other more, last 20% we deal with hero's issues and get an epilogue.

There wasn't much tension and practically no drama or intrigue so, though the book was sweet enough, I found it boring compared to the rest of the series. ...more
