Disgraced, world renowned concert violinist, Nolan Grainger, is returning home to help take care of his ailing father. Growing up in Pelican Bay was never easy for him, constantly being teased and bullied throughout school because he was different. So when he takes an orphaned raccoon to the animal rescue, imagine his surprise when his teenage crush runs the place.

Very different to Kennedy's Protectors series, but I really enjoyed it. Loved the feels I got from Locked in Silence without having the angst and drama overdone.

Ah, for me there were many exquisite hurt-comfort wibbly-wobbly reactions from this story! I liked it a lot. It's not outstanding, or even anything memorable, but the writing is solid, if lacking in subtlety, and it is strongly compelling--I felt pathos for both alternating povs.

This was a really good book that I listened to on audio. This was book 1 of the
"Pelican Bay"
series. Nolan Grainger returned to the small Minnesota town that he grew up in after 10 years when his father had a stroke and his mother needed help. Nolan is a classically trained violinist he is also broken hearted after his ex accused him of stealing a million dollar violin his ex Tre also kept his favorite violin. When Nolan finds a baby racoon he takes it to a wild sanctuary that is run by his

An amazing start to a new series. I need to get the audio as I adore Michael Pauley. That town, I wanted to string up each and every one of those nasty POS for how they treated both Nolan & Dallas. Oh and what they did to Gentry, I have no words. I wanted to do the same to those boys, they deserved much worse then jail time. Can't wait to start the next one.
Michael Pauley did a wonderful job! I hope that he does the next book in the series as well. ...more

3.5 stars. For the most part, I enjoyed this emotional story. It started to go off the rails and drag toward the end with the introduction of random characters who were clearly there just to set up the next books in the series. It messed with the flow of the book.
The guys also cried a lot. A lot. But they were sweet with each other, and I appreciated the time it took for them to get to know each other. Their love was evident (The scene where they write on the wall got to me.) I also liked the r ...more
