Let me first get this out of the way. I am one of the readers who L-O-V-E-D Rule Breaker so going in I already had two things going for it/against it. The first being, of course that I couldn't wait for this book and the second, well, oh boy, it had some big shoes to fill.

I’m not sure where Lily Morton has been all my life…but I’m head over heels in love with her charming stories. I can’t get enough!!! The first book in this series, Rule Breaker, was one of my top reads last year. It was sassy, silly and scorching hot. I was anticipating another fantastic read with this newest addition, but I didn’t expect for it to soar to my favorite books of the year list….again. I think I might actually love it more? But please don’t tell Dylan and Gabe!

So let’s see…where to I’m not sure where Lily Morton has been all my life…but I’m head over heels in love with her charming stories. I can’t get enough!!! The first book in this series, Rule Breaker, was one of my top reads last year. It was sassy, silly and scorching hot. I was anticipating another fantastic read with this newest addition, but I didn’t expect for it to soar to my favorite books of the year list….again. I think I might actually love it more? But please don’t tell Dylan and Gabe!

So let’s see…where to begin?? Well, Jude (gorgeous underwear model) is in bed with a casual shag when things fall apart. Literally. He’s up shite’s creek without a paddle and desperately accepts a part-time summer gig in exchange for housing with Dean’s step-brother, Asa. Asa Jacobs. *sigh* Big, powerful, and successful but most of all, loving. His broad chest contains the biggest heart you’ve ever known. He’s fiercely protective and the best dad to his young son, Billy. Billy is easy to love. He brightens up the pages when he shines across them and I can’t think of a romance book offspring that I’ve enjoyed more. Once Jude joins them, pure (snarky) harmony begins to take form. However, both men have difficult pasts which are still impacting them and will continue to affect their future. Jude has no problem letting someone into his bed but his heart is another matter completely. Asa puts on a good front and lives his life one hundred percent for Billy, but barely for himself. His sole focus is his son. But you can’t live just for your children. And when Jude sweeps into his life he realizes he wants more, he wants a partner to share….everything.

What's to like: The writing, the humor, the flow, the balance…it’s all spot on. I enjoyed all of the secondary characters greatly, even ditzy Dean. The relationships between both Asa and Jude and their families warmed my heart. I had so much fun in all of the settings; if it was the big London home or the in the country or at the beach, I was happy. I especially enjoyed Jude’s birthday weekend! And the humor? Seriously good stuff. I’m a big fan of the wit and charm that radiates from Morton’s books. Dylan and Gabe return and I couldn’t have been more pleased! So much to like but even more to love…

What's to love: Easy, it’s the romance. Asa has taken a break from the movie industry to focus on raising his son. However, celebrity status isn’t something you can flip off like a switch. He’s still extremely busy and he’s ready to take the stage again. He needs a good assistant. No, he needs a great assistant. He has preconceived ideas about models and none of it is flattering. When his attitude and mouth get away from him, Jude decides to…play with him. Ha! It’s awesome!! Each chapter begins with responses to fan mail, written by the famous Asa (actually, his assistant handles this task) and I couldn’t stop my face from splitting. Priceless. Jude challenges Asa and he realizes he’s finally met his match. Now all we need is…a stopping point.

This story is rich in comedy, feels, and passion. I am confident this series will continue to be a smashing success and highly recommend you join along for the ride.

Beware of: Asa is dating a woman when Jude comes to work for him. Jude is in his birthday suit with another man in the first scene…with Asa’s step-brother to be precise. But I’m telling you…none of this matters. Not even a teeny tiny bit. It doesn’t take more than a few chapters and it’s clear who belongs with who. And when this happens, growly possessive tendencies take over.

This book is for: Everyone! I can’t think of a single person that I wouldn’t recommend this to. It has absolutely everything I consider necessary to compose a stellar read.

Me ha gustado mucho más que el primero, lo cual no era muy dificil porque el libro me desagradó muchísimo, en cambio esta novela me ha parecido entretenida y muy divertida, se lee rápido sin embargo no es algo que volvería a releer. Para pasar una tarde amena sin más.

In 2018 this made my favorites shelf.

In 2019, it did it again. OH MY GOD! I loved this more this time. No rocky beginning, nothing but love, love, love.

I don't know if I really thought of this series as one I'd have to re-read but that was foolish thinking on my part. Getting to revisit these guys in audio is just the best. I can't wait for the rest to come out! Hurry up!

I think Billy stole the show :). Jude is a sweetheart and has a wall around his heart after being hurt a long time ago and refuses to let anyone close to him.
