Re-Read 2021

Another re-read and another story that totally holds up, mostly. A lot of the bother is I am sure due to just me getting older and looking at the world differently.

I struggled a little this time with the abuse Kia endured for 7 years. With how everyone around her acted the moment she was free of him just does not jive with their behavior for 7 years she was with him. And believe me, I mean all the people in her life.

I have to say that for the most part, I loved this book. I loved Sam and Kia and their connection. Sam was the completely alpha and extremely protective of Kia.

And Kia had survived some horrible things in her abusive marriage. She seemed real and she had a personality that kept me reading.

This book was almost perfect. I really did love the first 75%. However, the last 25% didn't work for me. I get Sam needing to work through his issues, but that should have been happening over the whole book a
