Cute, cute, cute. This was a very good follow up! As a fan of the fake relationship setup, well, I welcome a series that focuses just on that. This series is doing it just about right. This book left me feeling pretty much the same way the first book did and that is a good thing. There is nothing wrong with this formula honestly. It was a little bit bumpy getting started and then mostly predictable with this sort of setup but not at all bad. Fun comes to mind.

This was book 2 in the
"Fake Boyfriend Book"
series. Matt is a professional football player who is in the closet and just got outed being photographed in a compromising position in a gay bar. To help his image his agent suggests that he get a fake boyfriend. Noah’s dad is running for president and making Noah constantly feel as if he’s a disappointment, so he agrees to date the blacklisted football player in order to irritate his dad. In the beginning these two did not get along Matt was ang

You look about as comfortable as I did when my housekeeper walked in on me balls deep inside my boyfriend senior year of high school. That was a fun way to come out to the parent

Not as good as the first one, but still enjoyable.

I loved this one, even though it was the Fake Boyfriend thing (hence the series title) there wasn't someone straight pretending to be gay.
I think I like this one more because it felt true what someone would go through if they were outed without their consent, especially if they are a public figure.
The relationship between Matt and Noah didn't feel forced at all, so that was an added bonus. It felt natural. And the sex... The sex scenes were so hot I can't even describe how they made me feel.

I thoroughly enjoyed this, it was fun and entertaining in the fake boyfriend troupe.

From Fake to Fated

This is my second book by Eden Finley. I’ve discovered I really enjoyed the author’s writing. Trick Play is a delightful book that displays a juxtaposition of humor and seriousness. I love the banter between Matt and Noah. The story sometimes expresses points in the details that are interestingly hidden in the myriad of shenanigans between Matt and Noah.
How grumpy Matt and loosey-goosey Noah manage a fake relationship is wow. They are poles apart in background and personalities.
