Talk about being put through the ringer! This book was so hard to read, but so important and so good. All those secrets between Ty and Zane had to come out...right? Add a couple of scorned ex’s, a bit of voodoo, a nasty drug cartel and a dirty cop and you get angst, action and typical Ty and Zane hijinks. I hope my heart can handle the next book.

Dark deception. Hostile heartbreaking. Forgiving finale.
I am feeling sad. My chest hurts. I am in a Cut & Run funk.
This was NOT how I saw this happening.
Things were going so good, and this one started out okay. Alright, maybe a touch cheesy with the photo-shoot, but nevertheless it was fun. But soon, well, things went downhill in a hurry. My happy buzz quickly fell and I was grasping to hang onto what I’ve enjoyed between Ty and Zane so far.

I was not a fan of the flashbacks.

I don't even know what to say here. This book is a killer and I can't really think of anything new to add. Like I said in my review of the audio, I don't think it ever gets any better and I don't think, no matter how many reads or listens I do that it ever will. THIS BOOK KILLS ME. Something inside of me shrivels up and dies inside every single time.

It was interesting that my re-read fell on Easter weekend, while they were running around the French Quarter Easter weekend.

There was a lot. There was a lot I didn't recall but the killer shit? Yeah, I remembered that.

WTF???? That can’t be the end. I started reviewing all seven books while I was reading Touch & Geaux. I figured I hadn’t reviewed any of them really and I would just review them all at once. So, I started jotting down some thoughts when I wasn’t reading. All those beautiful thoughts are below. This part is being written immediately after finishing Touch & Geaux. To say that I am freaking out is minor compared to what is really happening with me. I AM NOT A HAPPY GIRL. I am totally going to lose my shit. Part of me feels like not giving this book ANY FREAKING stars! Why did that whole book make me feel so bad and just when my heart felt like it might start beating again did it have to end like that?? WWHHHHHHYYYYYY? I am so completely broken hearted. Well, there is not much I can do at this point except finish my review of the series. Below is how I really feel about this series. I am so wrecked by this book. I guess it is lucky I wrote the majority of this review before I finished. It may not have been so sweet.

Due to these books being SO FREAKING GOOD I did not review them individually, there was just no time. The time I would have spent in reviewing was much better spent immediately starting the next book and then the next and, well, you get me. I now, that I have come to the end of the series, well, at least the published series feel I have to review their greatness and get my feelings out the best I can. I don’t know if I have the ability to do this so I will just give you what I feel. Sorry if this is winded. I feel a whole Hell of a lot for these boys, my boys.

Sometimes you come across a book that sticks with you. You think about it when you aren’t reading it, you feel for it, wonder about it and just can’t read it fast enough but in the same breath pray hard enough that it will never end. Even better, sometimes you come across a series that does this to you. I have experienced this and when it happens I think about how lucky I am and truly think it never will happen again. Well, it did. I am so very thankful to get to experience the feeling of that kind of series again; one that tattoos itself on your heart. This series just left me breathless. Ty and Zane have officially become my favorite couple, like ever. I thought about them all the time. Driving in the car, sitting at work, trying to go to sleep at night, I just couldn’t stop thinking about them. I am still sitting here thinking about them to be honest. I have no idea what to read next and part of me doesn’t necessarily want to read anything else if these two beautiful boys aren’t part of it. But, time has to go on and there are more books to read, but, just me admitting I could not read another book should give you an indication to how much I loved these books.

Whew…reading this series was just beautiful. I devoured every word, every page. My feelings were on overload, my brain couldn’t stop thinking, my heart couldn’t stop racing, I laughed, I cried and mostly, I just smiled. It was just such an amazing journey watching these two bad ass guys fall head over heels in love with each other. Become better people for it and just learn that it is enough and that they deserve love and trust and everything that comes with that. I don’t know how Abigail did what she did but seriously, I believed every bit of it. I felt like it was something real and physical that I could touch. Each book in the series just got better and better. Each book opened new doors and tore down old walls. The progression of the relationship was perfectly paced (well, sometimes, minor frustrations here and there) and truly to me believable. Along with the relationship aspect each book drew us into a mystery that Ty and Zane had to work together to solve. I loved this side of the story as well. Watching them grow as work partners as well as real life partners was a perfect blend that held my attention completely. Their friendship was another part of each book that I couldn’t get enough of. They truly were besties. Sometimes I completely forgot they were grown men and I pictured them as young guys just palling around with each other as only BFF’s could. Each book brought new people to their world and I loved all the secondary characters. I really, really loved getting to meet both of their families and having them together with them. It just built more and more of a foundation in regards to what these two meant to each other as friends, partners and lovers that they would not even question having them at home with them. Again, just beautiful. Each book in the series was a stepping stone, each book, location, mystery, crime, injury and admission was just one step closer to where these two HAD to end up. Through the journey there was so much, attraction, fear and denial, the great realization by pretending, trust and relying solely on someone else, truth and honestly, giving in and up to the fight and free falling, romance and all along, hope. By the time I was reading Stars & Stripes (#6) I could see nothing but rainbows for Ty and Zane. This was it, all the steps brought me here to them for real together and I was full of relief. I think that my heart really hoped that Touch & Geaux was going to be a lovefest. I deserved that, they deserved that! Well, something told me it couldn’t be that easy, nothing with these boys is ever easy. I started Touch & Geaux with trepidation. Fear that something might go wrong, fear that this was the last book and just real fear that I had no idea what was going to happen to me in the end. I was so right to have that fear. This book was completely different than any of the others. This book had the answers but not the door opening kind and honestly, I did not read this book with a smile at all. God forbid those rainbows I was hiding under from book 6 would keep me safe forever. The beauty of a series, the beauty of a building relationship has to have pain I guess, I just didn’t want it and believe me, being in love with these boys the way that I am, it hurt. Reading what was happening, hearing what was being said and then, well, just then that end really fucking hurt. The book delivered, it just delivered it darkly and the majority of it made me brutally unhappy. The unlocking of the doors of the past made their journey come full circle. It had to right? They had to know who they were and not just who they were together. Still, I didn’t like how much it hurt to get there. That is all I will say about that, I’m still too wrecked to really analyze how I feel at the end of this series. What I do know deep in my soul is that this series will remain with me forever and will always be a favorite. Looks like there is another book coming out in 2014, I hope my heart can handle it and I can breathe until it gets here. I can’t wait. Ty & Zane FOREVER! Read. ...more

This is the book right? I mean, coming directly from Stars & Stripes this is not at all what you would expect from the next book.

Wow this was a hard one to listen to. Like I said the first secret wasn't all that bad in my opinion as I kind of figured out was the case. The second secret was by far the worst one. I can see why Zane was soooo beyond pissed. But the fighting was way OTT. Get pissed off, fight about it, scream about it but it should have been over it much sooner. My least favorite of the series, which after reading various reviews is why I put off reading it for so long. The long list of what I didn't like: unrealistic plot, Ty's numerous ex-boyfriends/girlfriends stealing the show yet again, not enough Ty and Zane interaction, Ty's lying, the absolute utter ridiculousness of the military/cop aspect. And finally, it seemed like this was just a long story to set-up the spin-off series for the Sidewinders. Now that series I might read, but I think this was ...more
