I rarely feel so seen emotionally by a book and that’s what this was. There are some parallels to some of my own experiences and that made for an emotional journey with this book. Always keeping it light though with the enemies to lovers/grumpy-sunshine feels it gives. This book always sticks out as a favorite to me even years later.
This was simply the BEST book I’ve read in a REALLY long time. Perfect in every way. Tears galore. I want a sequel immediately!

It’s also where you’ll find Alaska Wild Air owned and operated by Wren Fletcher and his band of sky cowboys. This is where the story really began over twenty years ago. And I’ll say no more regarding this because the book blurb sufficiently supplies enough, and I don’t want to spoil all the emotions this part of the book entails, or any others for that matter.

I’ve read most – if not all of Tucker’s books. This by far is my favorite. Beautifully written with an affecting storyline strengthened by a cast of memorable characters. Kudos to some very special ones besides Calla and Jonah, our main characters: Simon, Calla’s stepdad, who was a rock for Calla to lean on each time she needed him. Agnes and Mabel, mother and daughter, who had their own love story with Wren Fletcher. And three raccoons that added a little comedy of their own – the rugged Alaskan variety named Bandit, who was far more civilized than the citified Sid and Tim.

Above all, it’s an inclusive multi-layered story that celebrates love in all its forms — not only romantic love, but love of family and friends, the earth, our pets, and the love of self. It’s also a story of acceptance and forgiveness. You’ll find plenty of emotions that will bring sad and happy faces, too. Above all, readers will find a story that breaks away from the everyday monotony and avoids the mundane.

From start to finish, the story and its characters felt authentic and real. The land came alive by air and on the ground. The author brought each scenario to life in an edgy storyline where every character opened up to inspire and share a bit of themselves with readers. Totally caught me off-guard with so much more than I expected.

Sharing a slow burn romance that is both captivating and seductive, Calla and Jonah have plenty of chemistry, sizzle, and sex without all the details – satisfactorily establishing proof that “sometimes less is more.” Calla may be a bit superficial and definitely not a wilderness-type gal, but I’ll give her points for giving it her best go. Loved by everyone, Jonah is ruggedly gorgeous, and the daring pilot said to be the best of all the rest when faced with difficult and dangerous conditions. In a case of what might seem like history repeating itself, they are total opposites and each as stubborn as the other. Together they make an entertaining duo. Between the two, there are plenty of games to be played, tricks and bickering and bantering. It was fun to watch Jonah as he fought the good fight against his attraction to Calla, but he was no match for her sass and beauty and fell hard.

This solidly stands as a favorite for 2018. But I did have one complaint – NO EPILOGUE. And if ever a story begged for one, The Simple Wild is it. But not all happy endings get written, some are just lived. ...more

This was my first K.A. Tucker read, and I really, really enjoyed it. I liked the entire premise of the story and found it to be unique and interesting. I thought the romance between Calla and Jonah, and how they started out REALLY disliking each other but grew to have feelings for each other, was really fun to read about and had me smiling a ton. I was surprised, as well as really touched, by the emotional aspect of the book regarding Calla's relationship with her estranged father, Wren. I defin This was my first K.A. Tucker read, and I really, really enjoyed it. I liked the entire premise of the story and found it to be unique and interesting. I thought the romance between Calla and Jonah, and how they started out REALLY disliking each other but grew to have feelings for each other, was really fun to read about and had me smiling a ton. I was surprised, as well as really touched, by the emotional aspect of the book regarding Calla's relationship with her estranged father, Wren. I definitely had a lump in my throat and shed some tears during this story. This was a book where I also really loved the side characters, including the community in Bangor, Alaska, as a whole. It made me happy to see how much they all cared about each other and stepped up for each other in so many ways that mattered. If only every place in the world was like that.

The only 2 things I think I would have changed would have been adding an epilogue because I really could have used some more chapters with Calla and Jonah, and (view spoiler)
