What Members Thought

I did really like this book and the ending did surprise me. However, if you've read Ward's other series - the Black Dagger Brotherhood, the setup will not surprise you.
1) We have a brotherhood firefighters/SWAT team members. They're all big, tattooed, tough, and complete with baggage. Apparently, the BDB vampires aren't really that big if these humans are a guide.
2) We have a baddie. Not the nebulous Omega, but a Teflon businessman.
Still, very enjoyable and I will definitely go on. ...more

Consumed is a super intense story. Much more focused on the characters and the action than the romance aspect. Although the story is a standalone there is a great mystery that is partially solved by the end of the book but still leaves us with a few questions and lots to look forward to later in the series.

JR Ward is a favorite author. This was a good start to a new series.
