This was nice.

No wait.

The setup was horrible. I mean absolutely horrible. It was like watching a Disney movie with the evil somebody. There is no other way to describe what happened to Ethan as anything other than evil. I can't even really get into it without seething. Assholes.

Stormy. This book is full of turbulence. Not only the story but my feelings were swirling at times as well. Although I found myself a bit topsy-turvy, in the end, I came out on top. Normally I connect easily with Andrew’s characters but Ethan proved to be a challenge. It’s clear he’s been forced to bear more burdens than he should have. His heart and kind soul sparkled despite his dark clouds. But..he was just so emo at times that I struggled. Once he found his confidence, happiness, and of cour Stormy. This book is full of turbulence. Not only the story but my feelings were swirling at times as well. Although I found myself a bit topsy-turvy, in the end, I came out on top. Normally I connect easily with Andrew’s characters but Ethan proved to be a challenge. It’s clear he’s been forced to bear more burdens than he should have. His heart and kind soul sparkled despite his dark clouds. But..he was just so emo at times that I struggled. Once he found his confidence, happiness, and of course, love….well, he was much more appealing. And it helped my predicament that Clay is so charismatic and downright delightful you can’t help but adore him.

What's to like: Ethan is smacked with the deepest betrayal the eve before his big day. He was supposed to marry the boy of his dreams and instead watches his dreams shatter before his eyes. Lost and broken, he decides to grab onto any threads of the future he had envisioned. Australia was more than a bucket list goal, it was an aspiration he shared with his late mother. He refuses to let Michael pop every single bubble and forges ahead with their highly anticipated honeymoon. Once he arrives in the foreign country without the comfort and the security of his partner, he seriously doubts his rash decision. Ethan is hard of hearing. He suffers from moderate to profound hearing loss. Losing his hearing had a huge impact on his life and those close to him. His diagnosis pitched him into a deep depression, one that he recently found himself breaking free from. Sadly, when he lost his hearing his partner also began to drift away. Denial was his shadow and looking back, his relationship trembled precariously long before his wedding day. Embracing his new (terrifying) freedom Ethan makes a new friend. One perhaps, that could bushwhack him all over again. But this time when the wind is knocked out of him, it’s because he’s flying so high.

What's to love: First, I can’t tell you how much I loved Clay. Second, I absolutely loved traveling with Ethan! I wanted to go back and take notes for future travel ambitions. It was so vivid, so bright, so…gorgeous. I need to see it with my own eyes. I was enamored with the voyage as much as the men on the journey. And *swoon* Clay knocked me clear off my feet. I didn’t care about the recent breakup. I didn’t care about the age gap. I didn’t care about Clay’s ex-wife. It was crystal clear Clay and Ethan were made for each other. I adored their tentative friendship that blossomed into…more. I loved how seamlessly they fit together. Without a doubt, Keira knows how to establish solid romance. And Ethan and Clay are the ultimate example of…happily ever after.

Beware of: A heartbreaking sever of Ethan’s old life…but a beautiful rebirth of his new life. Sexual awakening late in Clay’s life. A tragic etched memory which shepherded his course…until it leads him to Ethan. And an emotional overload that can be…oppressive. And yet again, Keira clearly demonstrates that love knows no age.

This book is for: If you enjoy Andrew’s adventurous and enchanting guys, I believe this tale from down under will take you on a ride you won’t ever forget! Fair dinkum mate.

Me ha gustado bastante, Keira es una autora con la que he pasado bastantes buenos ratos y seguro que seguiré leyendo sus historias, sin embargo admito que han habido ciertos detalles que no me han dejado disfrutar de la historia, el que destaco (porque me ha chocado mucho) es que por momentos me he sentido como si me estuvieran dando una lección acerca de etiquetas acerca de identidad sexual, entre otras cosas y eso me ha cortado mucho el rollo, está bien que las novelas tengan "mensaje" pero pa ...more

How Clay Got His Grove Back!

4.5 Stars!
I just love this story! It contains some of my favourite troupes-age gap, slow burn, GFY, hurt/comfort, friends to lovers, first time mm sex...and yeah, it was pretty hot!
I enjoyed reading about Ethan and how he struggled and overcame difficulties with being hard of hearing, having the courage to take a honeymoon by himself after being betrayed by his fiancée and best friend.

This was a really great read. Ethan sure had a terrible start to the honeymoon. I think my absolute favourite part was a moment towards the end when all the family were watching cricket in the backyard and Ethan knelt next to Clay’s mum, who has dementia and calmly tells her about his wedding, probably for the hundredth time or more.
