Once again, Cordelia Kingsbridge flawless writing sucked me into the story and didn’t let up. Now I am even more confused who the killer could be!!

And that ending!!!!! UGH!

OMG that was so good! That ending was amazing! But I loved the whole story. The case was fine, but it was the interactions between Dom and Levi that I loved. So, so good! I can’t wait to read the next book.

Not quite the 5-Star read that the first book in the Seven of Spades series Kill Game was but still a rather enjoyable read. I love where this story is heading and the end of Trick Roller left me rather excited to continue with this series. If anything, this felt like more of a filler book before we get to continue with the main focus of The Seven of Spades serial killer but there was plenty of development for the characters in this which I appreciate.

Thoughts:

While I wouldn’t be surprised if it Not quite the 5-Star read that the first book in the Seven of Spades series Kill Game was but still a rather enjoyable read. I love where this story is heading and the end of Trick Roller left me rather excited to continue with this series. If anything, this felt like more of a filler book before we get to continue with the main focus of The Seven of Spades serial killer but there was plenty of development for the characters in this which I appreciate.

Thoughts:

While I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out that the Seven of Spades was more involved in the events of Trick Roller than we were lead to believe, the serial killer took more of a backseat in this book while Levi & Dominic dealt with other cases. While I’m not saying I didn’t enjoy going along with the two while they handled the cases throughout Trick Roller, witnessing the two deal with the actions of a serial killer makes for a much more action-packed read.

Do I even need to mention anything more than the fight scene in the gym between Dominic and Levi? Hot AF. But on a more serious note, there’s lots of development in the relationship between these two men in Trick Roller as they take big steps in their relationship such as showing PDA and Dominic bringing Levi along to Jasmine and Carlos’ family get-together and introducing him as his boyfriend. Levi is also such a supportive partner as he helps Dom work through his issues with gambling when triggers are presented to him during his new job as a PI (no more bounty hunting for him).

I adore Dominic’s best friend Carlos, a trans-man who has recently gotten his top-surgery during the events of this series. Cordelia Kingsbridge has included a trans-man in her series in a positive light and clearly is very educated on the matter, unlike some writers of M/M that I’ve sadly witnessed in the past. I loved getting to experience scenes such as him proposing to his girlfriend at a family get-together with her grandmother’s ring and working on building up his chest-muscles after surgery with Dominic at the gym. The friendship between Carlos and Dominic is such a beautiful part of this series and I hope we get more scenes between the two of them throughout the rest of the series.

Will I be continuing this series?

How could I not after that ending? I can’t wait to continue with the third book in this series, Cash Plays. ...more
