This one gutted me -- my heart is breaking and I can't stop the tears from running down my cheeks. Beautifully written, but I'm feeling like the author took this story one step too far. That's why I'm taking a few days to maybe go back and read parts again before making up my mind just how I want to address my feelings. The story plot and the characters all get two thumbs up, but there's still that over-the-top issue that I'm having a hard time processing. The final devastation hurt too much.

I will not rate this book, the last 10% of tragedy was very unnecessary in my opinion or at least to me.

The Last Letter is definitely not a traditional romance story and is not a light read. There are beautifully romantic elements that keep the story from becoming as sad and dark as it could be.

“This isn’t one of your Christmas romance movies where they fake-marriage themselves out of a conundrum, break into snowball fights, and fall in love. There’s no happy-ever-after here.”

What an emotional read. Days later and I can't stop thinking about it. It was the shocker at the end that really did me in. It just felt like too much after everything this couple and her two kids had gone through and also a little too close to home for me.

Very well written and I just flew it like all of the authors other books that I've read. ...more
