What Members Thought

I'm doing more reading than reviewing during the holiday season. So short, quick and fast -- I awaited this book with great expectations. After all, it's CoHo and, for the most part, she's always kicked my reading into overdrive. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy parts of her latest -- it had the best of intentions, potential and qualities to be a five-star read. Colleen Hoover - as a rule - is a very angsty writer. Her books are not so much romances, as surviving life's pitfall books with a garnish of romance. And this book has more angst than most. If her books are usually 80% angst, 20% romance - this one is 90% angst, 10% romance, 10% domestic fiction.

I go into every single Colleen Hoover book blind. I don’t read, blurbs, I avoid reviews and quotes, I never read the sneak peaks or advanced chapters. All I knew about regretting you was that it followed a mother and daughter. So I knew it would be intense for me as a mother of daughters but also as the only daughter of a single mother. Intense was apparently an understatement because...
