The challenge to step out of my comfort zone blew up in my face today. The only real plus to this read is that it may be the wake-up call that proves I'm just too old for this type of book. I don't even know how to describe my feelings towards what I just read. YUCK, maybe. GROSS, and definitely turned my stomach. It literally disgusted me. I wanted to know the secret Vaughn protected so despicably. Bullies and BJs took centerstage. There are definitely triggers and they are ugly.

Sigh where to start......sigh If you know me then you would know LJ Shen is one of my absolute favorite author and I'm obsessed with all her work. As such....this is why writing my review is so hard for me because I felt so let down with her latest creation. Personally I believed Angry God could have been better, the book seem rushed and the plot wasn't overly compelling and I couldn't connect with the main characters. LJ Shen is one of the only authors I know that can make me fall in love with an a$$ even before he does anything redeemable. How in the heck does she do this? How can I knowingly walk into a book despising and loving a character all the same?
I will be honest....I was not feeling Vaughn in the beginning. Of course I knew I would love him...its Emilia and Vicious's son and its LJ Shen. But I did not mesh with him at first like I thought I would. I don't know if its because I was not looking forwa ...more

Just... wow. Leigh took me on quite a roller-coaster with Angry God. I felt sad, angry, disgusted, compassion, love, and hope.
Lenny’s and Vaughn’s lives are intertwined in ways they don’t even know, like an invisible rope linking then together. I loved seeing this unfold and how even pieces from early in the book can be seen in new light at the end.
Vaughn’s journey is so dark, twisted, and sad. There’s always a reason someone acts a particular way, and to see the heartbreaking origin is utterly ...more
