4 stars ????
I am really conflicted on how to rate this one. As much as I liked the story itself, there was so much world building thrown at you, I was utterly lost. It was even more difficult because I was listening to the audiobook, and I had no idea there was an index. I eventually switched over to the book and found the index which did make things a little easier.

I was so torn with this book. See, by the half way mark it really wasn't doing it for me and I set it aside. In fact, I returned it through KU. Then it started to niggle at me and wouldn't get out my thoughts so I downloaded it again and .... I'm glad I did.
Once the real action kicked it up a notch and the big reveals about Patrick's past started to flow I was hooked. But this needed to come way, way earlier in the story and this is where it lost its shine for me. The author's imagination and w ...more

Sometimes I forget that I kind of do like Urban Fantasy and not just Paranormal Romance. I think somewhere in my head I think too much Fantasy and not enough Romance just won’t work for me.
Sometimes I’m just silly.
The beginning of this book took some getting used to, so many freaking acronyms guys, but once I got my groove I couldn’t put this down.
Hailey’s writing is superb.

Holy crap, Ms Turner does it again with another amazing series. We have Patrick who is a mage that has gone through literal hell in his life. We have Jono who is a wearcreature, wolf, who has been ostracized from any pack that he has come into contact with and disowned by his parents through no fault of his own. We have mages, wizards, witches, vampires, wereceatures, gods, goddesses, fae, seers and I’m sure I’m missing some. Several years ago, there was a war as a very bad guy was trying to mak

The Soulbound series is an Urban Fantasy series set in New York City that not only features all sorts of paranormal creatures but also focuses on Gods (specifically the Greek and Norse Gods) and anything featuring Greek mythology is a soft spot for me. This first book is a lot more action than romance but I was personally fine with that as we got what I considered a decent amount of relationship development between the two MCs in the middle of all the action.

Initial impressions after finishing:
- It can take a series time to find its footing, and I'm okay with that. There was so much potential here, and I enjoyed the book and the protagonist, Patrick, enough that I do plan to keep reading the series.
- There are a LOT of characters, both supernatural and not. Looking forward to delving deeper into them in the remaining books.
- I liked the worldbuilding, but because there was so much information, it was somewhat confusing at times.

Simply stunning.
Full disclosure, I've read this author's other series and loved every word of it. I was nervous to see whether she could capture the magic again in this new series. I shouldn't have worried. Once again Hailey Turner has created a story that is intense and heart wrenching and achingly beautiful. The characters leap of the page. Far beyond a simple whodunit, this story has intrigue and espionage, spies and magic. Those who like their murder mysteries with a side of BlackList and he ...more
