Shelves: tragically-beautiful, forget-me-not, slow-burn

Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is...blind. Yes, I know that's not how it goes but it's appropriate here. This tragically beautiful love story reminds us that love truly is the most powerful force on earth. Justin didn't lose his eyesight, but his memories. In the blink of an eye, 5 years worth of time was stolen from him. Waking up in the hospital with two companions, pain and confusion, Justin didn't recognize the man that never left his side. Who was this handsome stranger? Why was he stricken with pain and grief? One of the many things I adore about amnesia romance is how steadfast love can be, it can bridge any gap including missing time and tie two hearts together. I was expecting this to be angst heavy but Nic lifts the dial and grants us a tender tale that had me misty-eyed with a smile on my face.

What's to like: We don't have a great deal of time with the guys 'before' but I was grateful to glimpse their relationship before the tragic accident. Dallas and Justin are mechanics and work in a bike shop that Dallas owns. Their circle is rather small, including two blokes from the shop and Justin's sister. Despite the fact they were only together for a few years before all of their memories are erased we can easily see how important they are to one another. We spend the majority of our time in the hospital with Justin during his recovery. It was painful and felt authentic. As always, the writing was smooth and clear. And the cover? Magnificent. The wings on Dallas' chest suit him perfectly and despite everything, Justin is a lucky man.

What's to love: Dallas has to be one of the most patient souls down under. Justin wasn't the only person who lost something that fated morning. Dallas could have lost the love of his life but he didn't. Between the physical injuries and mental trauma, Justin will never be the same. But Dallas loves him with everything he has and refuses to give up on him. This sparkled like a beacon of hope throughout the story. Dallas was stoic in the face of uncertainties and I could see why Justin fell in love with him, for I was smitten as well. I have a strong suspicion you will feel the same!

Beware of: Unconditional love...trust and faith vibrate from the pages. Slow burn...charming characters suffer an unfair blow but prove second time 'first kisses' are just as magical as the first. Soft cliffhanger...it wasn't unfulfilling but I AM delighted their story isn't over.

This book is for: If you're a Walker fan or amnesia trope fan or simply enjoying watching broken pieces carefully glued back together again, Pieces of You could be exactly what you need.

5 My heart remembers you stars!!!

N. R. Walker is one of my favorite authors. Every book I have read by her, I can’t help but get sucked into a heartwarming romance and fall in love with the characters, and this one is no different.

I absolutely adored both MCs, Dallas and Justin, especially Dallas. They are both learning to navigate a new world of “firsts” after Justin is in an accident. They are both struggling in their own way, but they are determined to figure things out.
