As sad as I am for this series to be over it was an amazing ride! I knew going into this book that I would fall in love with Will. He was the "fun" one before that life changing Devil's Night and then he became the "broken" one of the Horseman. I hated this, so very much. It’s the only thing that drove me to finish it. The hate.

How this is getting the ratings that it is frightens me, seriously. This book needs a clean up and at least a 200 page reduction. But that won’t fix it.

The biggest problem with this book is Emory. She is maybe the worst character in a book I’ve ever read. And she’s the main character. She was a horrible person from beginning to end. Regardless of her circumstances, and I sympathize with them, she was not likeabl I hated this, so very much. It’s the only thing that drove me to finish it. The hate.

Regardless of her circumstances, and I sympathize with them, she was not likeable. Honestly, she was mean and rotten and honestly created her own Hell inside the Hell she lived in. She had no one but was a sexual God. There was not a single redeeming quality about her, beginning to end. It makes me wonder, because I think she was written to actually be likeable. What? Like how?

I was lead to believe based on all the gushing that Will Grayson III was the end all but it was impossible to see him due to his obsession with her. It was never really explained and the words on the page made it unbelievable.

Poor Will because I feel like there was a great opportunity with his character. Instead, they gave him an outright hateful bully to fall in love with and his shine just never shone through.

The sex in this was disgusting and at most times just inappropriate. This was really just smut and not good smut. One orgy after another. It read as if it was inserted (haha) to get the most reaction. It was yucky.

Everyone seemed always just a breath away from peeing their pants and all of them were always wet because for some reason it only rains in this EAST COAST TOWN. Rain, rain, rain! No, that’s not true, in this book, it even rained all the time at Blackchurch. The rain and the pee became characters throughout the series. How odd.

I don’t even know what to say about Alex. I kind of hate the author for even creating this sort of character. It’s terrible to feel this conflicted about someone who is so loyal. Who she was in the beginning of book 1 should have ended then, in the first couple chapters once she became more. Having her continue to be that person and the person she was to these people was unkind and wrong.

So, I hated this book the most, but the overall series wasn’t that much better. And while in the beginning I attributed it to maybe not being the right audience for this, now that I’ve read 2000+ pages, it isn’t fair to anyone, especially me, to take that easy way out. I did not dislike this because it isn’t my cup of tea. My hate has nothing to do with my drink preferences. This was bad. Really, really bad. It makes me so sad that these boys are anyone’s book boyfriends. No. It makes me so angry that these boys are revered that way.

There is another novella that takes place after this one. I’m not reading it. I’m so burnt out by this series and think the only positive I can take from it is that 2025 can only get better from here. But, I’m not a quitter but I do make excuses. My excuse? It’s a Holiday novella. So, maybe next Christmas I’ll give it a shot…or maybe Christmas in July. Or…
