Before I get started, would you kindly check out the cover…thanks, I’ll wait. Actually, I’ll take another peek myself. Have mercy! It’s sensational. I don’t always fixate on covers, especially when they include one of the MC’s but Leigh knocked this one out of the park. I can’t say the same about the title because it felt…trite. Now that’s probably just me being finicky, but it seemed to imply a simplicity to the story that just isn’t true. If you’re acquainted with the notorious GL specials you are well aware of the complexity and depth in her books. She has a gift for creating intricate characters that entangle you into their labyrinth of heartache and heartwarming moments. It doesn’t seem to matter how large her family grows, I feel deeply connected to each and every one. Almost as if I’ve known them forever and always will. So yeah, most of the secondary cast is familiar and they express this ease and comfort with one another. If you haven’t had the chance to meet them yet, it’s okay. This is a lovely place to scope them out and decide if you want to get up close and personal. I have a sneaking suspicion you will, as I’m feeling some rereads coming on. I absolutely adore all of them. Anyways! Moving on…

What's to like: Back to Toby and Cole. Toby has been around Whisper farms for a long while now. He’s thrilled that everyone has clicked with their soulmates but…surrounded by pairs only highlights his single status. He’s never really alone but he’s lonely. When the new guy shows up on the farm to help with Angelo’s classes he suddenly turns into a blubbering mess. He doesn’t know what it is about Cole but he craves him with a pang of gnawing hunger. Cole is only too happy to enlighten Toby and help sate his carnal appetite. He never expected to return his raw desires but *gulp* does he ever. My favorite part about them is how the ‘teaching’ wasn’t one-sided. Cole may be more experienced sexually but Toby opens Cole’s eyes to a whole new world. A world where he can be a lover, a dad, a friend, and a teacher. I just loved how they evolved from friends…to friends with benefits…to the newest couple on the farm. The angst is considerably lower this round but I didn’t mind in the slightest. There’s so much good stuff!

What's to love: As always, the emotional pull is strong and steady. I loved how Toby was initially the kid or youngest ‘brother’ on the farm. There is a fierce protectiveness in the air that Cole must accept. Oddly enough, when it comes to Toby everything is different. He wants the approval of the guys and ultimately Toby’s affection. Which was not supposed to happen. Cole has priorities or a priority to be specific…his darling daughter. To his startling dismay, he realizes that he doesn’t have to limit his bubble and it truly is okay to let someone else in. His mask of confidence doesn’t work with Toby and before long he relishes this tidbit. He doesn’t want secrets. He doesn’t want to graze the surface. He wants real. He wants roots. Even more precisely, he wants Toby and he wants him permanently. Now the question is, does Toby want the same? *happy wiggle* If you’re willing to tangle with surfing, riding, and passionate falling you’ll find out for yourself.

Beware of: An awakening, both sexually and emotionally. Tentative boundaries that are quickly obliterated and incinerated. And farm boy plus hippie actually make an exceptional pair…I’m talking hot harmony!

This book is for: If you’re searching for a story that seamlessly blends first love, lusty love, and family love…you ought to stop here. And if you’ve read the Skins series I promise you won’t want to miss this!
