I had one preconceived notion about this book prior to its release. Ever since Ryder took care of Cindy in Atone, I wanted to see them get their happy ending. I was ready for it. My excitement was high, and then I read the blurb. Huh? In my mind, that's not how it should play out, but we'll give it the benefit of the doubt and see.
