Another score with the second book in the terrific Knockemout Series -- over 500 pages of adrenaline rush! Lucy Score never misses a trick winning my heart through her characters. So far, both books have held me hostage in the closely-knit smalltown of Knockemout, Virginia till the end. Good thing that I’m retired with no set schedule and can let the dust settle for another day and the bed left unmade!

Written in first person with alternating dual POVs from Chief of Police Nash Morgan and Insurance Investigator Angelina Solavita. Even though Nash and Lina’s story is completed here, the reading experience is probably best found from reading the series in order – but not absolutely necessary. Each additional story builds off the previous one including the return of familiar family and friends that may include a few spoilers scattered throughout.

A greenlight to go from the beginning, impossible to put down and will keep your heart racing in more ways than one. Nash and Lina are scene stealers, heart robbers and completely unforgettable characters. And so is sweet Piper, the bedraggled little dog that Nash and Lina rescue from the drainage pipe and may play a part in cementing this relationship.

Lucy Score’s writing radiates humor and creativity. I’ve come to realize that any book by her is going to be a direct hit to my heart. The romantic involvement was filled with quick-witted and fiery bantering. There were bumps along the way but love conquered all as the sparks ignited into desire and a love that was inescapable. The added suspense woven into the storyline held my interest and kept me on the edge of my seat while waiting to find out what would happen next.

Get swept away by this charming heart stealer -- it’s an absolute gem to read! Too good to be missed!!

An exceptional epilogue with a special added bonus package was the perfect ending with an exciting, romantic and wonderful happily-ever-after for Nash and Lina.

Nash Morgan and Angelina 'Lina' Solalvita

I am deeply invested in these characters and the town of Knockemout, so I was ecstatic to get to Nash and Lina's story. And just to say, as soon as they interacted, I knew they were going to be an item, just not the how.

Nash is a good guy, brother, friend and grandson, although he has a bit of a feud going on with Knox. Then he was attacked and that affected him more than anyone knows.

It started out great but I got a bit bored with all the detective aspects. I think it could have been shorter by leaving some of it out and still be a great story.
