Emily Henry has become a staple for summertime reads. Her latest arrived just in time to save me from that painful choice of "what do I read next?"

Told only from Harriet’s point of view in past and present timelines. I wish we had gotten Wyn's as well. In my humble opinion, I think this story would have benefited by the inclusion of his thoughts at certain points in their relationship. They were not on the same brainwave for a lot of the time.

Readers can count on being treated to another sexy, fun-to-read romance with characters that will steal our hearts. It’s a bit of a bumpy ride for Harriet and Wyn to get that second chance though. Even so, readers can always count on an evenly balanced blend of emotional impact through the good times as well as the not-so-good times.

At the center of this story are the vicissitudes and vulnerabilities of friendships. And the depictions for this group of friends are spot-on by EH. I love the diversity she always shows among her characters – whether positive or negative -- and the level of interest always remains high.

Harriet’s career decision at the end bothered me. I felt there were other avenues using her education for her to explore. Seemed a little out of the realm of reality and a whole lotta money down the drain! And the idea was never even touched upon by either Harriet or Wyn.

To me, this was a second-chance romance for Harriet and Wyn that begs for more. I didn’t feel completely satisfied their happily-ever-after would be fulfilled. I know some readers might be fine with an elusive-type ending. But I’m not one of them. I thought it could have used a more robust ending. In my view, it seems a bit of a cop-out to leave the story with an open-ended feeling. I don’t want to be left wondering on down the road if they are indeed living a beautiful happily-ever-after together. For me, please wrap it up nice and tidy with a pretty bow.

Not my favorite from this author but certainly one I wouldn’t have missed. I’m a fan of Emily Henry’s writing and this was another solid book. I just didn’t love it quite as much as some of her others. Still, if Emily Henry writes it, readers are certain to devour it. ...more

Although this isn't my favorite Emily Henry by a long shot, I did enjoy it. I especially liked the emphasis on mental health and the lacking self confidence of the friends. This would make a great beach or vacation read, since it doesn't take that much concentration. ...more

Harriet Kilpatrick, Wyn Connor, Sabrina, Cleo, Parth, Kimmy

I have really grown to really enjoy Emily Henry's books. This was no exception.

The story is told entirely from Harriet's pov, but it's not just about her. It's about the entire group of friends and how their relationship grew and changed as a group and as couples (because over the years they have paired up). Overall though it's about Harriet having to deal with Wyn after they broke up months ago and telling everyone the truth.
