What Members Thought

My favorite romance ever.. I had downloaded an arc from netgalley and just in the last 36 hours got the chance to really read it.
I couldn't be more in love with an author or her story right now.
I will say going into this , I had know idea the synopsis after a month or so if requesting it and coming back to read it.
I'm such a huge neuropsych and Oliver Sacks nerd, so serendipity of finding a romance with a very likable character who develops prosopagnosia( face blindness ) was such a treat

I never thought I would say this about one of Katherine Center's books -- but it is what it is and it cetainly wasn't for me. I struggled from start to finish and it wasn't for lack of trying. But this one bored me to tears - I found Sadie immature and bland - the writing was okay but the story itself was blah and at times completely unbelievable.
I'm in the minority on "Hello Stranger." Hopefully, Center's next release will be a better fit.

I enjoyed this book, although I didn't like it nearly as much as The Bodyguard.
It was interesting, everything Sadie went through with her face blindness. I enjoyed following her life. However, the romance could have stood a little more chemistry. The humor was really good and she had a really horrible sister.
I will definitely read more Katherine Center. ...more

I absolutely loved this book!! Hello Stranger was my first book by this author but I’ve now added all her books to my TBR!!
They story was sweet, swoony and fun, too! Poor Sadie saw her life falling apart but didn’t want to let anyone see her vulnerabilities.
“…from now on, I would not burst into any more tears at that clinic. I would show up looking a hundred percent “Fine, thank you. and yourself?” As a point of pride.”

I am not a romance kind of gal but omg this one really was super cute and sweet. I loved the story and i dont think i could love the characters anymore than i did. I did however hate the evil step sister. I just wanted to be Sadies bestie thought the whole thing. I enjoyed learning a little bit about the medical issues Sadie had without it being overly medical.

I'll say it again - I love Katherine Center's books! This one was really good and unique and had me unexpectedly emotional. Loved it!

Hello Stranger's unique medical diagnosis is the central conflict in the story, which I appreciate.
The book's first half did have me invested in Sadie’s journey post-accident/diagnosis. I enjoyed the banter between her and Joe. Towards the 2nd half, the over-the-top family dynamic & miscommunication between Sadie/Joe felt too unrealistic (even for a romance novel).
I usually do enjoy Katherine Center’s books (this one just wasn’t for me!). ...more
