Let’s just say I am starting 2024 in a bit of a slump. I always struggle with this author, so I knew this might be the wrong choice for me. I know it’s just me because most of my other friends in the Buddy Read really enjoyed it.

I'm just not connecting at all with either character. There is so much ugly happening to both of them and it just feels too grim; too heavy.
I tried.

I just love Barbara Elsborg’s books because they do not disappoint. With consistently well written characters and dialogue, I can’t understand why Barbara’s books don’t get more hype!
He’s the one was another hit for me. Surprisingly sweet given the dark undertones in the backstory and definitely a book I loved.
I have to say I’m always wanting more when it comes to Barbara’s writing. Thankfully I have book 2 to look forward to and I’ll get my fix from re-reads until then.
