I hate that I didn't like this story more, but the whole time I was reading it, I just kept remembering how happy Alexis was with Gary before tragedy struck, and I was wishing I'd been reading their love story instead since we didn't get to see much of it - I was the most engaged during the chapters with them together and then after while she was grieving and seeing how sweet and supportive her family was helping her through it all. I also loved her with her kids throughout the book.
