Wow, so I was beyond fired up for this 4th book in the BHS series, and while I enjoyed it...it didn't blaze quite as brightly as I had hoped.
I think I've narrowed down why...
The first 3 books were centered around Angel and Simeon.
I LOVED watching them grow stronger and fall deeper in love.
I knew this book shifted focus and was about Isaac and Constantine but I didn't expect to shuffle backward and begin building a new path.
There's a lot of backstory about Constans and again, while

Not my favourite book by this author. Whilst I loved Isaac and Constans's story, the slow first half of the book was so slow I lost interest and never really gained it back again. ...more

I love when a story surprises me. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this one since I was not a big fan of either Isaac or Batiste. Since leaving Nevermore, Isaac put himself together and along with the gang, they had to find out who was targeting the vampires in Boston. The killer had his sights on Isaac, but why?
I enjoyed the complete change in Isaac. He struggled so long and he went from being so angry and full of guilt to so happy and in love with Constans. Returning to his studies and becomi

Issac, who is Angel's younger brother is fresh out of rehab. He has been carrying around the guilt of hiding when his family was being killed, though that is the way Angel wanted it. Constantine is the master of the city and the ruler of his vampires. We get to see his backstory and get to know him. In a prior book, Angel had put a heck on Constantine show that he couldn't use his charms on Issac. I really enjoyed watching these two really explore their feelings without Constantine being able to ...more

As much as I adored the Beacon Hill Sorcerer Series from the beginning, there always seemed to be something keeping the series at a 4-Star-read for me and I quickly figured out what that was when I began reading the fourth book. As incredible of a character Angel Salvatore was, I found that I wasn’t connecting with him as the protagonist as much as I desired to. Instead, I found that I had a more intense connection to his brother, Isaac Salvatore, and luckily for me, he finally got to take cente

Another book in the series

I waited a long time for this book.. Daniel was a messed up young man who hates himself. In this book he discovered who he was and that he mattered. It was good to read about his journey through recovery to finding love.
