What Members Thought

Well, most CoHo books either make me cry, swoon, or just get angry. This one, however, just made me cranky and wondering why I insisted on finishing it.
We have a rather unlikable female lead who - against her better judgement - agrees to work ghost writing in a rather isolated location - think Wuthering Heights. The male lead is rather neutral, which is very startling when he starts exhibiting emotional reactions.
And then there is the twist at the end. Well, I'm afraid that just exasperated me ...more

First I need to take a breather -- I'm exhausted! That was one tense and thrilling and disturbing and creepy and damn brilliant book. But who's surprised? It was written by Colleen Hoover, one of the best badass writers on the market today.

Man, I don't know how to rate this book or even if I should. I read this book as part of a reading challenge, and "dark" is not usually my go-to genre to read, but I do enjoy them every once in a while, and I wanted to know what all the buzz was about. Was this story dark? Absolutely. Was the writing engaging and kept your attention? Definitely. Is it a unique and different story? Totally. Was it creepy, upsetting and disturbing and really difficult for me to read at times? YES.

Wow, that was an roller coaster of a read! My first Colleen Hoover but definitely not my last.

Have you ever heard of a book and wondered if it would live up to its hype? This book not only lived up to it but exceeded it. Been a while since I've finished a book this quickly.
Really hoping Colleen Hoover decides to write more books like this. ...more

I absolutely do not know how to rate this book.

I’ve only enjoyed one book by this author so far. This is not the one. Lol this was twisted and disjointed. I never got a feel of any of the characters or the scene.
I love to read because it’s like a movie in my head. The video was out on this one. Lol
The ending honestly just grossed me out more.
Time to face it. I’m just not a fan of this author and that’s okay.
