Very insightful look into the coming of age of a 13 year old Native American teenage boy on the reservation where he lives, and the trauma he and his father both endure when his mother is brutally raped and left for dead. Reminded me a lot of the show from the 1980's, The Wonder Years. You are taken into the teenage boy's life, Joe, and experience his life as he faces growing up, hanging out with his friends, and dealing with the tragedy that overcomes his family.
