Members really enjoyed this book. Moyes did a great job with the character development. Even the secondary characters dealt with their own personal struggles, but in a way that contributed the to the story as a whole. Although no one was seen as a villain, Patrick wasn't viewed fondly.

The group loved the relationship between Will and Lou. They complemented each other well. It was noted that Will helped Louisa to become comfortable with expanding her horizons, and Lou helped Will experience joy even in his current condition. The group enjoyed their bantering. The group was saddened by the way it ended, but they liked the way Moyes wrapped up Louisa's story.

One member said that even though the book had tragedy, she thought (u)Me Before You(/u) uplifted her spirits.
