What Members Thought

The story follows Amir, a young Afghan boy, along with his father and their two servants.
This book was frustrating. The characters were smart but very flawed, resulting in almost interminable [unnecessary] drama. But people don't always do the "right" thing, or the smart thing, and I think the author does a good job with this. It's easy to have a protagonist who always does the right thing, seeks the quickest path to redemption and whom everybody loves. That is not Amir.
