ugh.. I am so glad that I didn't read this during my young, impressionable years. A teacher might have convinced me that it was good.
When it sooooooo isn't.
I know that EH was more revolutionary than writer. He was excellent at general characterization, no doubt. But the story is just boring and plodding. The characters are not rounded enough for me to empathize in any way. just ewwww. ...more
