Write the words.

Erase the words.

Bang your head against the keyboard because there are no words to describe the way you feel at this very moment.

Re-read the book because a book like this can't be read just once.

Try to type more words for a review that will just be gibberish.

Receive life altering news that rocks you to your core. Read the book again because the tears are already flowing, why not add more.

I can't stop the tears from streaming down my face. I can't stop the emotions inside my body

Title: Where The Road Takes Me
Author: Jay McLean
Series: Standalone
Release Date: February 10, 2015
Rating: 5+ stars (If I could give six I would)
Spoiler-free review

I was swept away on a road trip of raw emotion. Where The Road Takes Me was a devastatingly beautiful story of heartbreak, love and courage.
This book changed me. I have embraced my own road trip after reading this book. Jay McLean’s writing is stunning and poetically crafted. This book might be one of my all-time favorite books and an

Sometimes I am a bit wishy-washy. Like having a hard time making decisions. Sometimes you have just made enoughdecisions for the day and want someone else to decide where we are eating. So here I sit in a decision making funk. I can't decide wheather this book is 5 Red Letter Stars or 5 Fire Truck Stars. I can not make all these decisions.

I love Jay McLean. This is not a secret. Her writing is lovely.

****I received an arc of Where the Road Takes Me in return for my honest opinion****

If you think that you know what Where the Road Takes Me is about, then you are so completely and totally wrong!!!

If you’ve read any of Jay’s other books (More than This, More then Her, More than Him, and More than Forever), then you know how amazing she is. She writes books with so much heart and love and passion. She gives you all the feels and never disappoints. Jay isn’t just an author who writes romance books

You can ask me who my favorite author is and I can give you the easiest answer. Her name is Jay McLean and she is magic.

I met Blake and Chloe a long time ago and it feels like I've been holding on to a beautiful secret, just waiting for the moment when I could shout from rooftops about how beautiful this book is. I am so glad that time has officially arrived.

There are a lot of books that can take you on a journey. But there are only a handful that that become a part of you. This is one of thos

To be completely honest, I wasn't so sure how I would like this book. Jay's previous works, the More series, hold a special place in my heart and I wasn't sure if this book could top it.

IT DID!

Not only was it an amazing novel, but it made me FEEL. It make me feel every possible emotion. I loved it, I hated it, I loved to hate it, I laughed, I cried, I shook my phone in frustration! This book has it all.

I usually put my own synopsis in my reviews but I won't with this one. Trust me when I say yo

When this author writes she writes from the heart. Her scenes, the situations, her words flow beautifully and captures the true feeling of being sucked into the world being written. This book will take you on a journey of living.

Today will live forever in the memory of tomorrow.

At first glance some may not understand her characters I say that you need to look deeper into the story being told. The story of Chloe Thompson and Blake Hunter is the perfect example of looking beyond the typical norm.

I love the Hunter and red-letter days.

To me this story is more grown up even though the characters are in high school.
Chloe and Blake meet by chance one night.
Chloe is shy and prefers to be invisible. Blake is popular, quite the opposite of Chloe and has a 'girlfriend'. Blake can't seem to keep his brain off of Chloe.
Chloe has a plan, a plan that doesn't include getting attached to anyone. She has a plan to hit the road as soon as she's done with school. Their paths keep crossing and they cont

I have been waiting SO LONG for this book! And I'm so happy that it's finally here, and I get to share it with you!
Let's face it...if Jay McLean writes it, I read it. Period. For those of you who have read her More Than series, this book is not like those. It is more YA than NA. These characters are a lot different from those characters. But that's ok. I love Chloe and Blake. They are both messed up, broken people with messed up, broken lives. And if you're anything like me, their story will mak

I don't think a book needs to be perfect to be great. I have come across various issues with many books, McLean's included, and still found reasons to adore them, just like I adored Where the Road Takes Me. Sometimes her stories veer into the cheesy, sometimes the endings are rushed. Sometimes the shocking scenes seem a bit unbelievable. But never have I not fallen in love with a protagonist or supporting character presented to me by that woman or not been t

This story moved pretty slow for me. I found myself zoning out a lot and wanting to just get there already.
But the end was sweet and I kinda got teary eyed.
I like Jay McLean's writing and I will continue to read whatever she puts out there.

Jay Mclean has destroyed me with this book and now I sit here and think what heck to stay about this book without giving it away. It been a long year and a bit waiting for this book so I knew I had to squeeze this book into my massive tbr pile. Jay doesn’t ever disappoint and despite being a slight departure from her NA books, this being a YA book. It tore me to pieces more than any oth

As soon as I read the title of Jay McLean’s newest release, Where the Road Takes Me, I immediately thought of Robert Frost’s poem, “The Road Not Taken,” and while the English teacher in me would argue that the ideas of the two tales are not quite the same, the references to how a life should be lived and the paths that are determined and chosen are aptly explored in both.

Chloe Thompson and Blake Hunter’s roads have been paved a specific way since they were young, and those journeys couldn’t be m
