I put off reading this book for ages, mostly because of the title - I think I pictured one of those tedious urban fantasies that bang on about fairy court politics. That was very silly of me, because this is a marvellous book - yes, it is about court intrigue, but it is all so fascinating and thrilling. It is also partly about the value of being a thoroughly decent and kind person, without being overbearing on the point.

I haven't read this since it first came out, but there is a sequel/companion coming out in June, so it seemed time!
