Even more unsettling than the last book maybe?? These alien and human interactions are positively disturbing but also intriguing. I fully believe Octavis Butler wanted it exactly that way. This time, we follow Akin, Lillith's son who is the first human-alien hybrid born to a human woman. This story definitely has a bunch of messed up parts, but it's also incredibly interesting commentary on humanity and what it is to be human. Also (view spoiler) ...more
