Hilariously told but heartrendingly twisted Dominican-American family history from la Era de Trujillo to the immigration experience in New Jersey.

This is a heartbreaking and beautiful homage to the nerds and the losers. The ones who never seem to fit in no matter how hard they try. The outsiders. The foreigners who, no matter how hard they try to assimilate, will never be accepted. And an homage to those who never ever give up, no matter how many times the universe reaches out and stomps on their spirit. Oscar Wao is a wonderful and inspiring hero.
