I just re-read this, in anticipation of the movie coming out (in spite of the fact that Alan Moore didn't want a movie made). It is every bit as good as I remember it. I got hooked on Moore's stuff back in the 80s when he started working on Saga of the Swamp Thing - some of the best comic book writing ever. I highly recommend this book.
