Dark Matter was about so much more than just sci-fi. While the sci-fi plot part of it was definitely well done, I loved the general tone of the book, the subject matter, the exploration of the effect and importance of choices, regrets, might-have-beens, and pondering on paths not taken - as we all do. Really struck a chord with me.
And later, also, the meaning of identity and the meditation on what it is that makes the self.
Overall, I loved the book. 4/5 since I believe there is a lot out ...more

A great, short, sweet sci-fi read. The writing style is digestible but perhaps simplistic for some. I loved the subject matter and the fast-paced plot. I loved the emphasis on family and the complex main character.
Took an interesting tack about 2/3 of the way through, but still way more of a romance than I expected or wanted.
