Everything I wanted from a fantasy pirate adventure book full of action, intrigue, and magic.
I love that this book is written from the perspective of a mother. She is witty and hilarious and loves her daughter, but also drawn to the sea and following her ambitions. The relationship between Amina and her daughter is very endearing.
