First and foremost, you will not only have to have read the first two novels, but you should read them right before you read Cress. I did not and had to keep fact checking to refresh my memory. Just do a quick reread of them both and bingo-bango, no problems there.

I haven't seen the cover art yet, of course, but I have heard it is breath-taking. I will probably buy an offical copy for the cover-art. *ETA: GAH! Just as pretty as the other two. Is there somewhere I can get the official arts on posters? They would make great additions to my other book posters.*
The book itself is a real page-turner, just like the rest. I felt sad that I had to put it down. It is really well paced and cuts POV's at great spots, jumping over boring behind-the-scene bits (that only was slightly confusing one time in the beginning).
Iko gets a body. OMFG I love Iko. I thought I loved her as a ship, but she is perfect in a body. Gah! Best secondary character ever. Meyer should release a collection of stories from Iko's POV. I would love them 110% more.
Wolf and Scarlet get separated! Just when they got to be all adorable and together and happy, they get separated. Wolf goes into catatonic-crazo Scarlet goes to Lunar for "fun" times.
Kai and Cinder get their conversation/argument! It is as adorably angsty as you could want.
Now we have to new comer. Cress. She makes a very hardcore yet believably fluffy Rapunzel. She is very well written and the book spends the appropriate amount of time on her. She's a programmer/hacker chick. Of course good ole Cap'n Thorne is her love interest. But, as it turns out, he is both as caddish and heroic as you would expect. He *was* a huge selfish jerk, but by the end, he has had some massive character development. Now all together: Awwwww.
We do meet Winter at the very end (the Snow White of the series). She is adorably creepy, insane, and fantastic. She has a menagerie of animals in her rooms she cares for.
The book definitely leaves you aching for more. I do NOT know how I will last until 2015 for the next one. The wait, more than likely, will cause me to parish in pining fangirly anguish....more
