This is one of those dystopian thriller stories, where something very, very bad has happened to the world, but you don't know what. With teenagers.

Definitely the best book I've read in a while (although keep in mind I was stuck on one book for a month very recently). Complicated premise with some fun twists and turns. Lord of the Flies in the middle of a maze. With some creepy creatures to up the ick factor. A touch of romance, some good mystery. Got me to bring it to work, which is an excellent sign. Great story idea, and the execution was well done. The mystery of who WICKED is keeps you going and the characters are well developed.
I would give this five stars, because it is EXACTLY my kind of book for approximately a million reasons (dystopian, first book in a trilogy, scary, good world creation, etc. etc. etc.), except that the writing was not QUITE as good as I wanted it to be.
