How much can one person take? Katniss has survived two trips into the Hunger Games arena, and yes, she's alive. But she's not living, not really.

This third and final volume of the series is about the cost of war, how it isn't tidy and exciting and fun to watch on tv. It's real, and awful, and unpredictable, and the cost is incredibly high, so high, it should always be the last resort. Okay, that's me editorializing on that last point.

This is a messier, less enjoyable, yet more ultimately powerf

I am falling so far behind on some of my goodreads reviews. I finished this book two months ago and never wrote about it. I loved this book, although I took some issues with it. Ugh, I stayed up reading this till my head hurt & I finished reading the last page. I know this book will be staying with me, but is it because I already know and am obsessed with the characters from the first two books? I am glad I read this one, but in no way did it make me feel happy. One thing I love about Suzanne Collins, she can write hell of a good song lyrics.

Different than the others, but I really don't think it could have ended any other way. It's hard for me to give it a star rating -- because while I think it was a perfect end to this story, I didn't exactly...ENJOY...reading it. I can't stop thinking about it, but it wasn't entertaining. But it wasn't supposed to be entertaining, I'm pretty sure, so I feel like I should give it five stars.

That's all for my cryptic review for now -- once some others have finished it I think I need a lengthy disc

I made the mistake of thinking it might be as good as The Hunger Games. Maybe you had to be on drugs to enjoy it, at least I got it from the local library.

The first time i read this book i gave it 2 stars but liked it much better this time. Maybe because the world feels so brutal. Read these with elliott.
