This is an example of a story where the Netflix original series is actually better than the book. Could not/would not finish this one.
Excellent book. This memoir briefly recounts the author's life leading up to her 13 months in a federal women's prison, and then details her experiences during incarceration. It is interesting and readable, balancing intelligent observations about the "war on drugs" and the inefficiencies of the system with honest and sympathetic recounting of her interactions and feelings during her stay. I highly recommend this book.
