My 14-year-old daughter just finished reading this book about the early days of the AIDS crisis, from the days when it was called GRID (Gay Related Immune Deficiency)and largely ignored by everyone but a few "hysterics," to the day in 1985 when Rock Hudson came out as an AIDS patient, thereby legitimizing the disease.
