As the mother of a teenager going through the college application slog I was interested to read this book. It was certainly a grim picture of American life in the 21st century. Kids stressed out and drugged out caring only about getting into the top colleges. I would hope it is an exaggeration but having attended college 30 years ago with students of this ilk I fear it may be true. Can't say I enjoyed the book.
