it's so strange how awful i found this book. poorly written, slow, cliché sappiness everywhere, yet i couldn't put it down and i had to finish it. is there a genre for dumb Seattle place dropping weirdness? if so, this is it.

Wonderful story, told through the eyes of the family dog. I would recommend this book to all dog-lovers.
I read a friend's review of this and decided to add it to my queue. It also happens to be written by a local author, and I've got a goal to read a handful of local author works a year. I finished this in a day in finals week. I couldn't put it down.

Reminds me of the bridges of Madison county--overwritten, overwrought and plain dumb at times. The characters were flat stereotypes and the plot expected. I love my dogs but realize their intellectual capacity. The ending in doggie heaven did the book completely in. Silly and trite at best.
Rereading this book because the movie version of it finally comes out on Aug. 9th!!!
