I read this because it's a contender for the morning news tournament of books. I knew it was, you know, about Achilles, his life and story and eventual death, but I did not realize this was a gay romance novel. Apparently I am very stupid about The Illiad. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the gay romance novel aspect of it, though. I mean, greek of greeks half-god hero + shrimpy exiled dude. I loved this book so much that I tried to read it slowly, to make it last longer. It has something for everyone- a love story, war with lots of action, fantasy (deities, a centaur) but is mostly a story of finding oneself. Seriously, you should read it!
