What a fantastic cast of characters. Each one more screwed up and loopy than the next. There is not a single "normal" person in the book. The plot is farcical but quite entertaining. A good fun read.

I don't know if it's because it's been a while since I read a Carl Hiaasen book, or if this one is particularly good, but I enjoyed it immensely. I can totally relate with the main character Honey Santana, who is either bipolar or easily enraged when other humans don't share her high level of decency and compassion. I love the depiction of her kind-hearted son Fry, too. Hiaasen is notorious for having at least one loutish, revolting character in each of his books, and this one is no exception. T
