I must say I really enjoyed this one. Of course, being Irish, I had my hackles up ready to criticize if it was not done right. It was. It was done perectly well… Irish authors out there and also non-Irish authors who write about Irish characters “Take Note”! We are normal, we speak with ordinary voices, we may use bad language, but not all the fecking time.

Starting from the prologue I was pulled into this story of magical intrigue. Matilda is an ordinary girl with a sad past who is working for her dad at his law firm when one day a beautiful stranger turns up requesting their services to help him sue a national newspaper.
I was questioning everything from the beginning, and although the prologue is a bit of a spoiler, there was so much more to this story than you first think.

Six of Hearts is one of those books that’s been on my TBR for forever and I’m glad I finally got to it. I really loved Jay and Matilda. Their romance wasn’t your average contemporary romance. There were parts of it that were predictable, but definitely some surprises. I always enjoy LH Cosways books and I’m looking forward to finishing this series.

holy shit, this massive nuisance called work is seriously disrupting my reading.
after a pretty "long" time, i read a book that left me feeling satisfied. loved it all. i was able to figure out pieces of the mystery because i had so much time to just think about it when i wasn't reading - usually while at work. that didn't take away from the experience, only heightened it. it felt like a prize knowing you were right at the end. ...more

This is my fourth book by the author and clearly Ms. Cosway writes fantastic hero characters!
I am in a total fangirl status for Jay character cuz The Illusionist and Prestige are two of my favorite movies. I enjoy the fun dialogue, and characters development throughout the story. The alluring book blurb grabbed my attention pulling me in for something magical. A mixed bag of intrigue, humor and sass started me off in good company.
But as I turned the pages, the sparkle dimmed. I had a difficult time warming to Matilda. The story is written from her POV and just didn't match up with what the story so deserved. It was weak and bland.

I am totally in love with Jay. Matilda was hysterical - as shy and awkward as she thought she was - she was so authentic and charming. Jason is one of my favorite heros ever - something about his sense of humor and loyalty. So glad to find this book!
