Follows a couple from their childhood in the Swiss Alps through Manhattan until the remaining years on the Iron Range in Minnesota. Loosely based on the author's grandparents' lives.

I'll admit that I picked up the book largely based on the appeal of the cover. I had also read some general good praise. It was better than I expected from someone whose other books have been made into Lifetime movies. The writing describing food and the religious inclinations of the characters is the author's best

I listened to this on audio. I wasn't aware that the narration would change half way through. It was extremely jarring. That being said, the book itself was a treat. ...more

The first three chapters are a little slow, but I was hooked the moment Ciro met Enza. Great love story. Don't let the book's thickness intimidate you. ...more
